some guy i casually know, who is in a band named nice face, performed as themselves (whoa grammar) in this film and their song is featured on said trailer.
while this teen melodrama appeals to me on all social levels (“noise-rock concert in the middle of the woods”, “drunken stagger between anxiety and exhilaration”, “reckless paths…set upon in search of a good time”), what i’m really looking forward to is how awkward his unscripted kiss was (please, please, please be the “passionate—yet sexually confused—kiss”).
no but really, i am totally stoked for him.
EDIT: sadly it’s not the gay kiss.
it seems like just yesterday you were a sweet southern boy from north carolina moving to the city that never sleeps. we love you vaughn vance, you wild and wonderful man. xx
(so late on the uptake - my re-integration with social media networks i.e. facebook has been a somewhat slow thereby relatively painless process)
The wait is over. Special thanks to everyone who participated in making sure this project came out. RIP to Ricky Black.

the hunter thompson experience, of which my wonderfully talented friend nikola photo-documented, has finally aired.
In July, I somehow talked a bunch of otherwise smart humans into flying me to Las Vegas for seven days (never spend seven days in Las Vegas) in order to write something about Hunter Thompson and, uh, the American Dream. FEAR AND SELF-LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, the comically long result, runs to…
REMEMBER PAPER MAGAZINE X BBQ N’ DRANKS X ALL DAY. [35MM]
Remember Paper is a magazine that feels like a zine — i like it. A while ago there was a party in Williamsburg for it in the backyard of Crest Hardware. It was a dope and there was free drank and free grilled goodies, how can you beat it? Mad heads were there including my favorites the Hankins and Chris and Christian and Joe and Graham and Doug and Christine more and more. Ha. Lucas was djing and of course I lost it when he played ‘Chaka Khan - Ain’t Nobody’, that’s my jam. The magazine is pretty dope, I’m not sure where you can get it but when I know i’ll let y’all know. Some nice images in it. Enjoy the photos.
Antwan sent me this today; pictures he shot from the Remember Paper party. He’s one of my favorite friendsslashphotographers, and one of the few I let photograph me (I’m camera shy). Even on 3 hours of sleep, with no makeup, and awful bangs he manages to make me look fairly adequate. Thanks, love.
